Connecting
As soon as the wall has finished and the cement has hardened, the builders come back to break it…. They are punching holes and milling slots to connect us to the energy suppliers. And to the mail man. Water is connected from the other side of the road. Electricity and the internet connection come from the pole on the corner of the road. All these meters will be shining very ugly directly at the entrance of our new home. Because it is decided here that the ugly meters must be installed at the entrance. The least our mister architect can do about this is to instruct the builders to align al the meters to perfection.
It’s a gas!!!
And the biggest meter cabinet is supposed to be for a gas connection. Gas?!? Gas comes in cylinders. No, we don not want gas, we are not going to use it. There is no gas system in this village, nor will it be installed in the near future. There is not even a sewage in this part of town. But a preparation for a connection to a gas system is mandatory by law. Including tubing for connection to the house. Because government says so, and you will be fined when you do not comply to this law. So.
