Moving – part 1

In Januari 2019 we already ship part of our belongings and furniture to Vilar. Our house in Amsterdam is listed for sale! These are the times of cleaning up, mucking out and throw away. And to collect new stuff to fill the second household abroad. We buy second hand beds for our tall Dutch bodies and new matresses. We collect a complete new set of crockery and cutlery, glasses and mugs. Make a selection of clothes, sheets and towels from the piles in our closets. And then we pack all goods for shipment.

A truck arrives to collect our things. It visits several addresses in various countries before continuing its tour to Lisbon. This is an affordable way to ship your things. You pay per m3.

A week later the truck arrives in Vilar. Two giant guys carry everything to the first floor in the pouring rain. Unpacking is usually great fun! But it isn’t when your closets and cupboards remain a little dingy, even after several cleaning efforts. But the most important thing is: to be able to sleep in your own bed!
